THE AUCTION OF FLOWER 069

Flower No. 69 will be auctioned off on January 15, 2025 in a 24-hour auction on Magic Eden.

The only asymmetrical flower in the collection, it is inscribed on an Uncommon, Alpha, Silk Road Sat mined in 2011, the year the Silk Road was founded.

This is the first ever inscription on an Uncommon Silk Road Sat.

The year is 2200-whatever (we kind of just stopped counting, it no longer seemed to matter). Humanity has figured out how to colonize a few more planets, and you can now travel between them using car-sized, self-driving vehicles. Jobs are no longer a thing, boredom is rampant, but all drugs are legal, relatively safe and very... very STRONG!

Most people do one thing with all that free time on their hands, and that is to cruise around the galaxy, high as kites, with no destination in mind while listening to A.I. RADIO, an endless mind-melting stream of songs created on the spot to your taste, mood, and level of intoxication.

So there you are, you're zooming through space, at a leisurely pace, in your makeshift, second-hand, piece-of-shit ride, dodging the occasional moon rock, discarded fridge, satellite, billboard... you name it.

All of a sudden you see something in the distance, a glow emanating from a rock suspended in space, all covered in vines. As you get closer you realize that on that rock, underneath all the plants, lives….a small flower shop?!

So you park your little aircraft and walk up to the small, single-story store.

This place has to be from the late 1980s, early 1990s from the looks of the neon font and the furniture inside. Somehow the electricity on this small rock works and the humming neon reads "96 FLOWERS."

You open the door, walk inside, and are greeted by Rick James's “Super Freak” emanating from a dusty, old jukebox, that's shoulder-to-shoulder with a Ghost Busters pinball machine. Yeah... this place is from the 80s alright, and as your eyes adjust to the fluorescent lights, you start to realize why this place is called 96 FLOWERS.

As you look around, the walls are lined with rows, upon rows of exotic blooms. You count them and realize there are exactly 96.

But not just any random flowers, these things are not from any of the planets you've been on, they appear sentient, they have eyes! The eyes follow you across the room! The flowers seem to respond to the songs on the jukebox, they seem pretty stoked on life in general.

You let all of this sink in, and after a while you realize that this is ISN'T one of your many, many, vivid hallucinations..... this is actually happening! You look at each of the flowers (all of them seemingly begging for your attention) and when you get to number 96 you find a sign, and in white letters on a red background it reads "PICK A FLOWER, ANY FLOWER! FOLLOW YOUR GUT & DON'T LOOK BACK"
